Biography

Tom Seppalainen is an officially-appointed philosopher and historian of science and self-appointed metaphysician. His main field of interest is visual perception and cognition and in it he focuses on the philosophical underpinnings of explanatory models and research methodologies. His current research project explores these issues through the example case of color vision and, folks, he does NOT believe in reductionism or in a specific explanatory gap for consciousness. When not involved in philosophy he enjoys dreaming of a Humean world free of pseudosciences and snacking on Finnish meatballs that differ from their Swedish cousins in that they actually taste good.
